Construction Workers Pension Scheme win "Best Irish Pension Fund" award.
We are delighted to report that the Construction Workers’ Pension Scheme (CWPS) won the award for Irish Pension Scheme of the Year at the recent IPE European Pension Awards, which were held in the Convention Centre in Dublin last year in early December. CWPS was also shortlisted in the Pensions Governance and Administration award category among a strong field of European entries. The Chairman of the Scheme, Andy O’Gorman, commenting on the awards for the Scheme said “this is a fitting recognition of the Trustee Board, their advisors and its administrator, CPAS, in their ongoing efforts to ensure members and employers receive an excellent and professional service.”
The comment from the judges in announcing the win was “a really good entry with strong emphasis on governance and investment strategy backed up with impressive investment returns relative to peers”. The win in the 2018 IPE European Awards follows on from successes in previous years at both these European awards and the Irish Pension Awards.
CWPS continues to grow in size with the active membership now currently just under 31,000 and €1.53 billion in assets as at 30th November 2018. It is a multi-employer occupational pension scheme providing pensions solutions for workers in the construction and related industries, at a low cost to members and employers. It allows employers to provide valuable benefits to their employees with the minimum amount of fuss and overheads.
Membership of CWPS and the Construction Workers’ Sick Pay Scheme also satisfies the conditions of the Sectoral Employment Orders for specified workers in the Construction sector and the Mechanical Engineering and Building Services Sector in respect of Pension, Sick Pay and Death in Service benefits.
