Simple Service Solutions

CWPS is operated on behalf of the industry by an independent Trustee Company, Construction Workers’ Pension Scheme Trustees Designated Activity Company (the Trustee) who engages the services of Investment Advisors and Investment Managers to ensure that the fund achieves the optimum return for members. CWPS is administered by a professional Pension Administration company CPAS on behalf of the Trustee. These full service solutions come at no additional cost to employers or members and they remove the burden of time and effort from employers who can hand over the duty of care of their employees’ pension fund to the Trustee.

The Trustee Company consists of a Board of 11 Directors known as the Trustee, made up of 5 Employer Directors, 5 Trade Union (Member) Directors and a Chairman. All of the Directors are actively involved in the Construction Industry. They are responsible for running the Scheme according to the legal document which governs it, the Trust Deed and Rules and in the interests of all members.

The Trustee must make sure that CWPS meets current legal requirements; that the benefits are paid correctly and on time and that the fund is invested prudently so that it can pay out the benefits when they are due. The Trustee is also responsible for preparing the Trustee Annual Report. This report and accounts set out in detail how the Trustee, together with the Administration Company CPAS, the Investment Advisors and Scheme Actuary managed the fund within a particular year the report relates to. Trustee Annual Reports for each year can be downloaded from our Forms/Booklets section. The Trustee are also responsible for preparing the Statement of Investment Policy Principles (the “SIPP” or “Statement”) which provides an overview of how the assets are invested and managed.
